ENGINE CO. 2

The quarters of Engine Co. 2 located at 107 South Summit Avenue was built in 1951, to provide fire protection to the residents living in the "Hill Section" of the city.
In addition to providing protection to a large residential area, this company responds to 90% of the Hi-Rise buildings in Hackensack as well as being "First Due" at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Engine 2's district also includes light industry, and two major highways, Interstate 80 and Route 17.
In 1999 Engine 2 responded to 1,659 alarms.
